Today’s feature introduces a Turkish couple, Erdem and Burcu. Burcu is an influential Instagram blogger, while her husband, Erdem, works in retail. They share a passion for home renovation and often refurbish old furniture, and this balcony transformation is no exception!

To embark on their renovation journey, they chose to repaint the walls, replace the coffee table, and even use plumbing pipes as lighting fixtures. Their creativity didn’t stop there; they also transformed an old bicycle into a shelf. This couple is truly talented!

Burcu also has a keen eye for aesthetics. She skillfully incorporates greenery, flowers, and books to create a relaxing corner that exudes her unique personality while remaining effortlessly cozy.

These imaginative modifications have captured the attention of many, and their creative transformations are sure to inspire your own home improvement projects.

1. Creating a New Vase from an Old Jar

It would be a shame to discard an old jar. Why not give it a new lease of life with a fresh coat of paint, just like Burcu did?

Even discarded tin cans can be upcycled. Since the tin surface is uneven, Burcu used a sponge to meticulously add complementary colors and intricate details.

Once the paint on the jar was dry, Burcu selected clay in a matching color, molded it into a circular shape, and attached it to the tin. The beige clay served as the vase’s decorative handles. All that was left to do was wait for it to dry.

And just like that, a new vase was born from these simple steps.

The once ordinary jar has now been transformed into a high-quality vase. You can customize it to match your favorite color palette. Burcu opted for beige and terracotta hues to harmonize with the overall decorative style of her home.

2. Renovating a Large Mahogany Cabinet

This large mahogany cabinet belonged to Burcu, but many households likely have a similar piece of furniture. While the cabinet was still in good condition and had no flaws, its appearance was a bit dated, so the couple decided to give it a makeover.

First, they cut off the top half of the cabinet, leaving only the lower portion with the doors.

Next, they removed the center wood panel from the cabinet doors while retaining the outer frame.

The original legs were secured with screws, and conical wooden legs were added to transform it into a waist-high cabinet.

The cabinet body and doors were repainted in white. The couple applied multiple coats of paint to ensure the original wood color was completely covered.
