Vietnam’s culinary capital, Hue, has been recognized by Tatler as one of the top three Asian cities with the best cuisine that is unique, ancient, and largely untouched by tourism and commerce yet underrated in food rankings.

According to Tatler, when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine, most foreign visitors think of pho and banh mi, as these dishes are prominent in the larger cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. However, the magazine states that “Hue will broaden your horizons” with its refined imperial cuisine, featuring small, delicate dishes that are both visually appealing and tasty.
The magazine highlights bun bo Hue (Hue beef noodle soup), banh beo (steamed rice cakes), and com hen (clams with rice) as must-try Hue specialties, praising the perfect balance of sour, spicy, salty, and sweet flavors in Hue’s cuisine.

Topping the list of cities with the best Asian cuisine that has gone relatively unnoticed is Fukuoka, Japan, known for its unique style of ramen, followed by Ipoh, Malaysia, renowned for its aromatic white coffee.
