Cold weather is the time when sweaters come into play, but if you don’t know how to wash and care for them, woolen clothes quickly become saggy and faded, which doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing.

Here are a few tips that can help you avoid this situation.
– Before washing, remove dust from the sweater by beating it, then soak it in cold water for 10-20 minutes. After that, take it out, squeeze out the water and put it in a dissolved soap water. Gently rub it, rinse it several times and it’s done.
Sweaters that have been worn for a long time often stretch and become looser. To restore the sweater to its original shape, soak it in water at a temperature of 70-80oC for 1-2 hours, then hang it to dry. The elasticity will be restored.
– White sweaters often turn yellow after a while. Therefore, after washing, put the sweater in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, then take it out and hang it to dry. The sweater will turn white again like new.
– For colored wool sweaters, use tea water for washing. This not only removes dirt but also prevents the wool from fading. Here’s how to wash it: take a basin of boiling water, add a suitable amount of tea, wait for the water to cool, filter out the tea leaves, soak the sweater for about 15 minutes, gently rub it a few times, then rinse it with clean water and hang it to dry in a cool place.
– Sweaters that have been worn for a long time often get rubbed a lot, causing pilling. To make the pills less visible, mix water and vinegar, spray it on the affected areas, then wash the sweater. The wool fibers will be restored to their original state.
