Causes of cracked heels

The main causes of cracked heels are:

– Very dry climate, dry weather, friction on the feet.

– Long soaking/bathing in hot water.

– Using strong soaps, detergents.

– Various conditions such as fungal infections, allergic dermatitis, eczema…

Tips for treating cracked heels, dry feet

– Soak your feet in warm water: Avoid using hot water. However, during cold weather, many people have cold feet, and soaking their feet in hot water with salt/ginger/herbal remedies helps warm their feet and promote good sleep.

Only soak your feet in warm water (about 38-40 degrees Celsius), if the water cools down quickly, you can add hot water to keep the temperature warm.

During the soaking process, massage your feet to improve blood circulation and remove dead skin. After soaking your feet, quickly pat them dry with a clean cotton towel and apply moisturizing cream.

– Foot care:

+ Use bananas (or ripe papaya) as a foot mask: Ripe bananas contain a lot of vitamin C, B6, which nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Ripe papaya contains a lot of vitamin C, vitamin A, potassium helps improve dull and peeling skin. Apply the mashed ingredients to the cracked heels. Leave it on for about 15 minutes then rinse with warm water and dry. Then moisturize with cream.

+ Toothpaste + vitamin E: Mix toothpaste with 1 vitamin E capsule into a paste. After soaking your feet with warm water and cleaning them, dry them and evenly apply the mixture. Wear socks to prevent the mixture from being wiped off, leave it overnight and clean your feet with warm water early the next morning.

+ Fresh lemon:

Lemon is a cheap fruit with many uses. With its high vitamin C content, fresh lemon helps women look beautiful from the inside out. Lemon has anti-inflammatory properties, so it can effectively treat cracked skin on the feet.

Method 1: Squeeze 1 lemon, slice the lemon peel and put it in a basin of diluted salt water. Soak your feet for about 10 minutes. During the soaking process, gently massage your feet, especially the cracked heels and toes. Wipe with a soft, clean towel and moisturize with cream. This method can be done daily.

Method 2: Cut a lemon in half, squeeze out some juice. Use the squeezed half a lemon to cushion the cracked heels, then wrap it tightly and leave it for 3 minutes. Then rinse with warm water, pat dry, and apply moisturizing cream.

– Protecting the skin on the feet: Apply moisturizing cream to the heels and soles of the feet twice a day, in the morning and evening, after cleaning. If you still feel the skin on your feet is dry, apply an additional layer at noon.
