Japanese beauty expert Ishii Miho (@miho_ishii) has shared her anti-aging and skincare tips for mature skin on Japanese TV programs. She also revealed her “24-hour skincare routine.”
Morning skincare
7 am: Drink a glass of warm water when waking up
She maintains this habit regardless of the season. Warm water increases body temperature, thereby enhancing the immune system. Instead of eating heavy foods like bread or noodles, she drinks hot miso soup for breakfast.
7:30 am: Cleanse – moisturize – sun protection
Miho uses toner to cleanse and balance the natural moisture of her skin. She never forgets to apply sunscreen every morning, even if she’s staying indoors. She fully protects her skin by applying sunscreen.
Daytime skincare
9 am and 3 pm: Focus on moisturizing
Using a mineral spray is a way to hydrate your skin during this time period. You spray the mineral solution on your face, allow it to naturally absorb, and dry after about 1 minute to prevent moisture loss.
2 pm: Reapply sunscreen
Reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours is essential. Even if you’re indoors all day working on a computer, you still need to reapply sunscreen because blue light from phones or computers can also be harmful.
Evening skincare
8 pm: Double cleanse with toner mask
This toner mask step is extremely effective in moisturizing the skin, giving you smooth, moisturized skin, improving dryness, roughness, and signs of aging like wrinkles. She applies the toner mask for about 1-2 minutes every day after cleansing.
8:30 pm: Take a warm detox bath
Regardless of whether it’s summer or winter, Ishii Miho always takes a warm bath. Warm water helps open up the pores, allowing for a deeper cleanse.
Miho exfoliates her entire body about twice a week to remove accumulated dead skin cells, stimulating new cell growth for smoother skin.
9 pm: Complete the nighttime skincare routine
Similar to the daytime routine, Miho spends 20 minutes moisturizing her skin at night.
She uses Guasha to massage her face. This massage technique improves blood circulation and stimulates skin elasticity, improving aging issues such as sagging skin, wrinkles, and roughness.
10 pm: Soak feet for about 15 minutes and go to sleep
In cold weather, blood vessels are easily stimulated, leading to abnormal constriction of blood vessels. Therefore, before going to bed, soak your feet in warm water to promote blood circulation in the body, while also boosting metabolism to support weight loss and detoxify the skin.
