Coffee and Rose Hair Rinse Recipe
Rose Water
This water is obtained by steam distilling rose petals with water vapor at a pH level similar to our hair. It contains a large amount of vitamins A, B, C, and E that nourish hair follicles and prevent hair breakage or premature graying. Additionally, it addresses dandruff and other scalp issues.
Coffee grounds
Coffee contains caffeine that is extremely good for hair growth. It stimulates hair growth and reduces hair loss by prolonging the hair growth phases, resulting in thicker and healthier hair. Moreover, because coffee contains flavonoids, it helps improve dull-looking hair and adds shine while moisturizing.
The antioxidant and nutrient properties of caffeine add extra shine to your hair. There is ample evidence that rinsing hair with coffee reduces hair dullness and makes it softer and smoother.
Furthermore, coffee can naturally darken your hair if you apply it to your tresses. The coffee stain will darken your hair strands. Therefore, it is a quick way to cover up grey hairs.
Essential Oils
Orange essential oil
Rich in vitamin C, if you want soft, moisturized hair with the essence of fresh oranges, use orange essential oil.
Lavender essential oil
Boosts healthy and thicker hair growth. It has antibacterial properties that improve scalp health.
Tea tree essential oil
Exfoliates dead skin cells and dandruff on the scalp. It fights against dandruff-causing fungi and reduces the likelihood of scalp conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, itching, scalp acne, etc.
What you’ll need:
2 cups rose water
1 tablespoon of instant coffee powder or 1/4 cup of espresso
A few drops of essential oil, preferably lavender or thyme oil.
Instructions:
– Take a bowl and add 2 cups of rose water. You can use commercially available rose water or make it yourself.
– Add 1 tablespoon of instant coffee powder. You can also use 1/4 cup of espresso instead of coffee powder.
– Add a few drops of essential oil. Mix all the ingredients well and make sure the final product is not clumpy.
– Pour it onto your hair after shampooing and conditioning. You can rinse off any excess with plain water after 5 minutes. If you have blonde hair, limit the use of this product as it may gradually stain your hair.
