Former model Trang Tran recently shared her experience of receiving welfare benefits in the United States. In a video, she revealed that she received $3,000 (approximately 7.6 million VND) and food assistance. Trang Tran stated: “I went to receive donations and social welfare. Here, people give things to those who need them, and anyone can take them, regardless of their financial situation. Everyone here drives cars.”
Trang Tran also shared that she had previously declined to move to the US with her husband, Louis Tran, five years ago. However, she now regrets not settling down with him earlier, as he is currently taking care of everything for her. Specifically, Trang Tran said: “After two months of selling online and six months in the US, what have I gained? I realized I was wrong not to come here sooner to find peace earlier. Have I missed Vietnam? Not at all, because time flies here. Selling online here, one or two orders a day is enough to buy vegetables, and I’m happy. My husband takes care of everything in life; I just take care of the child, but my illness of loving money doesn’t decrease, so I work hard.”
In December 2023, Trang Tran brought her daughter, Kien Lua, to the US to live with her husband, Louis Tran, in the state of Tennessee.
After confirming that she had reunited with her Vietnamese-American husband, Trang Tran shared that she was working as a cleaner at a nail salon near her home. However, many people believed that she was the owner of the salon and even went to the salon’s Facebook page to leave comments, which caused problems for Trang Tran. The former model expressed her frustration in a livestream, saying: “I got fired, you guys are so mean! I’m stressed… I’m scared of you now; you got me fired. I never said that the nail salon was mine. I said I was working there. You don’t trust me, and you accuse me of lying and claiming it’s my nail salon. How difficult it is! I got fired.”
She added: “It’s hard to find a job, why did you make me lose my job? You guys are so mean; you put pressure on the nail salon’s Facebook page, and they let me go. You don’t let me live. How am I supposed to live now? I even got fired from a job that paid me $20 a day.
The owner sympathized with me because I had just arrived in the US a few days ago and was diligent, so she hired me. The other day, the owner gave me $2,000 in advance because I worked so hard. But now I’ve been let go. What am I supposed to do now?”
