Storing Clothes
Clothes tend to take up the most space in a suitcase when traveling. Even for short trips, one may pack at least 3-5 outfits.
To store clothes for travel, you can roll them into bundles and place them in packing cubes. Consider having three cubes for day clothes, sleepwear, and undergarments. Pack two large, sturdy bags for dirty laundry, too.
Storing Toiletries
For modern women, toiletries are essential travel companions. Basic items such as skincare, makeup, cotton swabs, and makeup remover wipes are indispensable.
Nowadays, many cosmetic brands offer convenient travel or trial-size kits. They are compact and disposable after use. For cotton swabs or makeup remover wipes, place them in a thick bag to keep them clean and prevent waste. If packing more is necessary, consider bringing compressed towels or disposable underwear.
Storing Cables and Chargers
Electronic devices like phones and cameras are also necessities on trips. You’ll need them for communication or capturing memorable moments. Hence, charging cables and adapters are crucial for keeping your devices powered.
To prevent tangled cords, store cables in separate small bags. They will be far more organized.
Storing Odds and Ends
Another strategy is to have a small, clear bag for miscellaneous items. It helps to check if everything is packed and avoids rummaging when necessary, keeping everything organized.
Storing Shoes
When traveling, women often pack an extra 1-2 pairs of shoes to match their outfits. To pack shoes neatly without dirtying clothes or other items, place shower caps over the soles before putting them in shoe bags.
Packing the Suitcase
Once you have everything packed, it’s important to organize them in your suitcase efficiently. Place heavier items near the bottom, closer to the wheels, to avoid putting pressure on other belongings. Then, fill the suitcase to avoid empty spaces. If you are traveling with a laptop, turn it off and place it in a padded compartment to prevent damage.
