Despite being over a century old, the mansion retains its opulent European architectural style. The two-story mansion features five bedrooms and four grand halls adorned with luxurious furnishings, reflecting the immense fortune of its former occupant.

The distinctive features of this mansion include its elegant white facade, intricate carvings, bright blue door frames, tiled floors, and exquisite wooden furniture inlaid with mother-of-pearl. These details showcase the sophisticated craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into its construction.

Notably, the mansion was designed by a French architect, and most of the materials used in its construction were imported from Paris. As a result, the entire residence exudes a sense of classical elegance and French opulence.

Cao Van Lau Theater

The Cao Van Lau Theater has become an iconic landmark in Bac Lieu, renowned for its unique architecture. Affectionately known as the “three conical hats” by locals, this theater was built on a plot of land spanning over 2,000 square meters. It consists of three circular blocks with conical roofs that face each other, the tallest of which rises to a height of more than 24 meters.

Located in Nha Mat Ward, Bac Lieu Province, the 11-meter-tall statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara attracts Buddhist devotees from far and wide. This site is also known as the Quan Am Phat Dai Mother of the Southern Sea, or simply Mother of the Southern Sea by the locals.

The area boasts several well-built structures, including the Three-Gate Entrance, the Hall of Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes, the Hall of Ksitigarbha, the 32 Holy Bodhisattva Statues, the ceremonial hall, internal roads, guesthouses, offices, and the inner court, catering to the needs of visitors and worshippers.

Constructed in 2004, this area serves as a place for religious practices and the preservation and promotion of the traditional culture of Bac Lieu Province.

Every year, on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of the third lunar month, the Quan Am Nam Hai Festival is held here, attracting Buddhist followers and tourists alike. With its unique cultural and spiritual offerings, the festival is considered one of the most prominent Buddhist events in the province and a significant highlight of the local tourism scene.
