The Benefits of Tying a Plastic Bag to a Broom

Hair shedding all over the floor is a problem that almost every household faces. Cleaning up small, lightweight hair strands is not an easy task. If you just sweep the floor with a regular broom, it’s very easy to miss some strands, and even if you manage to sweep them up, it’s difficult to gather them all together. Using a vacuum cleaner will provide a cleaner result, but not every household has this equipment.

To easily and economically gather shed hair in the house, you can make use of a plastic bag. Simply wrap the broom head tightly with a plastic bag. Use this broom to sweep the house. The friction between the bag and the floor will create static electricity, pulling the hair strands towards the plastic bag. After finishing sweeping, you just need to remove the plastic bag without having to sit and remove each hair strand stuck on the broom.

Using a Stocking to Gather Shed Hair

Similar to the previous method, you can use a thin stocking that is no longer in use to wrap around the outside of the broom head. Use this broom to sweep the house. The stocking will create static electricity with the floor (similar to the use of a plastic bag as mentioned above). The hair strands will easily stick to the surface of the stocking. You just need to gather them and throw them in the trash bin. The stocking can be kept for reuse next time.

Using Tape to Gather Shed Hair

This is a very simple method that many people apply. You can wrap a loop of tape around your hand so that the sticky side is facing outwards. Rub your hand on all the surfaces that need cleaning, such as pillows, bed sheets, sofas… The hair strands will stick to the tape. You just need to peel off the tape and throw it in the trash bin.

You can also wrap tape around the broom head, with the sticky side facing outwards. Use the broom with the tape to sweep the house. The hair strands will stick to the tape. When you’re finished sweeping, peel off that portion of tape and throw it in the trash bin.

Using Tea Leaves to Gather Shed Hair

Tea leaves can help you gather shed hair in the house. After drinking tea, don’t rush to throw away the tea leaves. Let them dry. When the tea leaves are about 50% dry, spread them all over the floor. Then, use the broom to sweep the house as usual. The hair strands will get tangled in the tea leaves and can be easily gathered together.
