Kim ngan is one of the most popular Feng Shui plants. Its lush green foliage brings positive energy. Green plants symbolize sustainability. Just by hearing the name Kim Ngan, you can feel the richness. The branches of the Kim Ngan plant spread in 5 directions, representing the five elements, so Kim Ngan is suitable for most people. Therefore, Kim Ngan is considered the most common Feng Shui plant that brings wealth to homeowners.

However, the most avoided feng shui plants are those with yellow leaves, dead plants, or plants that do not grow, as they will bring bad luck. Here are 3 important things you need to remember when planting Kim Ngan to keep the plant always green and to bring wealth and great development.

The first avoidance: Kim Ngan does not tolerate strong light

The Kim Ngan plant prefers diffused light rather than direct sunlight. They are similar to the money tree plant, if exposed to too much light or direct sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow. Therefore, you should only plant the tree indoors or near windows, balconies, but avoid direct strong sunlight. Kim Ngan plants need moderate light to keep their leaves green, but if exposed to direct sunlight or intense sunlight, they will become weak. So never let Kim Ngan be exposed to direct sunlight.

The second avoidance: Kim Ngan cannot tolerate excessive watering

Kim Ngan is an easy plant to take care of, but if you water it too often, the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow and die. Kim Ngan does not actually need as much water as you think. Typically, when planting Kim Ngan, you should only water every 10 days or once a week. When you water too much, Kim Ngan becomes too moist, causing root rot and the leaves to fall and turn yellow, ultimately leading to plant death.

The third avoidance: Kim Ngan dies when it lacks nutrients

Kim Ngan is a plant that requires nutrients because they are usually planted in a small pot and need nutrients from your watering. If your Kim Ngan does not grow well, you need to fertilize it with NPK fertilizer 20-20-15, diluted with water at a ratio of 100g of fertilizer to 10 liters of water, then water the potted plant. You should fertilize once every 20 days. When Kim Ngan flowers, you should fertilize it with potassium fertilizer at a ratio of 100g of potassium to 10 liters of water, and also water it evenly on the surface of the pot.

How to deal with Kim Ngan with yellow leaves

When Kim Ngan leaves turn yellow, it is usually due to lack of air circulation, or the surrounding space is confined, affecting air circulation.

The second reason may be due to over-watering, which causes the plant’s leaves to turn yellow and fall off, or due to root rot. In these cases, you should take the plant to a window to provide more air circulation, and do not place the plant in a very dim place. If the cause is over-watering or insufficient watering, you should check again. If there is too much water, temporarily stop watering and move the plant to a place with more natural air for it to recover. If you are busy and forget to water for a long time, water it again. Note that if it is an enclosed air-conditioned workspace, you can carry out normal activities, but for the plant, it lacks air.

How to deal with withered Kim Ngan

When your Kim Ngan plant is dry, yellowish and leaves are falling, you need to check if the plant is exposed to too much sunlight, facing an air conditioner, or if it lacks water, and adjust accordingly. You should remove the yellowish, withered leaves, and water the plant adequately. It is best to dilute the fertilizer in low concentration with water and water the plant once a week to provide additional nutrients for the plant to recover quickly. You can also use sour soybean water for watering the plant to help it recover, but avoid excessive and continuous watering.
