Inspired by the success of Disneyland in the US, Alton Towers was transformed into a theme park in the 1980s. Located in Staffordshire, the UK’s largest theme park received 49.4% negative reviews from visitors about their “awful” experiences.

According to Radical Storage, most visitors complain that the experiences they received did not match the ticket price (accounting for 18% of the reviews). The rides are considered outdated, and the customer service and staff attitudes are rated poorly.

2. Széchenyi Thermal Bath (Budapest, Hungary)

Although known as the largest therapeutic thermal bath in Europe, more than one-third of visitors (37.2%) found the quality of services and facilities at Széchenyi to be lacking.

3. Siam Park (Tenerife, Spain)

Located on the island of Tenerife, Siam Park is the largest water park in Europe. However, many visitors rate it as the “worst water park in the world” due to the staff’s rude and abrupt attitudes and frequent ride breakdowns.

Some guests mention even being insulted about their weight or appearance by the staff. According to Radical Storage, approximately 31.2% of the reviews mention negative experiences.

4. Time Out Market Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal)

Located in the Cais do Sodré district, Time Out Market Lisboa houses over 40 stalls selling traditional Portuguese dishes. However, many tourists find the flavors of the dishes here somewhat “unusual” compared to other traditional restaurants in Portugal.

The high prices and constant crowds also contribute to the disappointment of international visitors. More than a quarter of the reviewers (28.4%) mentioned leaving disappointed or frustrated.

5. Fontana di Trevi (Rome, Italy)

The fountain dubbed “the most famous in the world” ranks fifth. Although it is always on the must-visit list for Rome, many find the experience “boring,” coupled with the constant threat of pickpockets.

According to Radical Storage’s analysis, one in four visitors shares negative experiences at the famous fountain (24.6%).
