Moreover, according to Ms. Anh (or Ms. Sau) – one of the sellers here, the shop has been around since her parents’ time before 1975. Back then, her parents mainly sold dishes like , near Thu Duc Market and were known as ‘Quan Ba Mo’.
It was only later, after her parents’ passing, that the shop became the residence of her sisters and switched to selling dishes like , Hu Tieu,… with the elder sister, Mai, taking over, thus the name ‘Hu Tieu Mai’.
