Pork belly steamed with taro
Ingredients
– Pork belly: 180g
– Taro: 350g
– Spring onion: 1 stalk
– Rice wine: 15ml
– Salt: 20g
Instructions
– Rinse the pork belly and pat dry, then massage evenly with 20g of salt. Marinate the meat in the refrigerator overnight.
– After marinating, rinse the meat again and slice it into thick slices of about 0.5cm.
– Peel the taro, wash it, and slice it into thick slices of about 0.5cm.
– Arrange alternating slices of meat with slices of taro on a plate.
– Place the remaining meat in the middle of the plate.
– Place the round head part of the taro on top of the meat in the middle of the plate.
– Then, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of rice wine evenly over the meat. Pour 1/3 of the water into the steaming tray, place the meat plate inside, and steam until cooked. The steaming time is about 20 minutes from when the water boils.
– About 1 minute before turning off the heat, add chopped spring onion and then turn off the heat.
