Grilled meat is a favorite dish, especially on cold days. You can completely make grilled meat at home with an air fryer. Just marinate the meat with these special ingredients, the grilled meat will be fragrant and flavorful, challenging all senses.

About choosing the meat

– You should choose lean shoulder meat with a little fat (also known as lean tender meat). This part of the meat is crispy, soft, and has a rich flavor. If you prefer more fat, you can choose pork belly.

– After buying the meat, you wash it, then cut it into thin slices.

– Note that you should not cut it too thick because when marinating the meat, it is difficult to absorb the flavors and when grilling, the outside may be burnt while the inside is too soft. You should also not cut it too thin.

About the seasoning

This is a very important part, so you need to pay more attention when making grilled meat.

– For 500 grams of meat, you need 1 purple onion, 1 garlic bulb, and 1 lemongrass stem, crushed in a mortar to enhance the flavors.

– Add 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of pure honey (can be replaced with honey or sugarcane honey), 1 teaspoon of pepper, 2 teaspoons of sesame oil or olive oil or any cooking oil, 2 tablespoons of white sesame seeds, mix well.

About marinating the grilled meat

– First, put on gloves and then mix all the prepared seasonings with the sliced meat. Mix well.

– Marinate the meat with the seasoning for about 2 – 3 hours. It is even better if you marinate it overnight, the meat will be tender. If marinating overnight, the meat will be very delicious, or marinating in the morning and grilling in the evening is also convenient.

– Put the marinated meat in a clean container and refrigerate for 5 – 6 hours or overnight. If you don’t like marinating overnight, you can marinate for 1 – 2 hours and then grill.

– After marinating, skewer the meat onto skewers, do not press too tightly. Keep the leftover marinade. Place the skewered meat in the air fryer and grill at a temperature of 175 °C (adjust the appropriate power of the air fryer).

– Then, brush the mixture of pure honey and the leftover marinade on the meat and grill for another 2 – 3 minutes to make it more appetizing.
