How to Prepare and Use Garlic Wine
Processing garlic wine involves the following steps:
1. Buy garlic, wash, and dry it. Peel and thinly slice the garlic. Crushing or chopping the garlic increases its activity, as the enzyme anilase helps convert aliin in garlic to allicin.
2. Place the garlic in a clean jar or crock pot with a lid. Add rice wine in a ratio of 1 part soaked garlic to 2 parts wine. For example, 300 grams of garlic should be soaked with 600 ml of rice wine.
3. After adding the wine to the jar, close the lid and store it in a clean, cool, and dry place at an average temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. Let it soak for 2 weeks before using.
Methods for preserving garlic wine:
- Store garlic wine in a cool, dry place at a room temperature below 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid direct sunlight.
- The soaked wine can be used for a long time but its benefits gradually diminish. It is best to use it within 1 year.
