Instructions for making delicious, crispy, and non-sticky fried tofu

Step 1: To make the tofu crispy, gently rub a thin slice of lime on the surface of the pan to create a non-stick layer.

In addition, to make the tofu tasty, after purchasing the tofu, rinse it with water, then slice it into bite-sized pieces and let it dry.

You should let the tofu drain to remove excess water, so that it won’t splatter when frying and will have a better taste.

Step 2: If you have a non-stick pan, simply heat the pan with cooking oil until hot, then use chopsticks to hold the tofu above the oil surface for about 2-3 seconds. Then, let the drained surface of the tofu touch the oil before frying.

By following this simple method, the tofu won’t stick to the pan. You just need to immerse about 1/3 of each tofu piece in the oil.

Step 3: Use chopsticks to gently push the tofu piece to evenly coat it with oil before placing it in a fixed position until it turns golden. Make sure not to let the tofu pieces stick to each other.

Note: Use medium heat when frying the tofu to prevent burning.

A few tips for making crispy and non-sticky fried tofu

Soak the tofu in saltwater

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to a bowl of hot water, stir until dissolved, and then soak the tofu for about 30 minutes. The saltwater will reduce the moisture on the surface of the tofu, giving it a bright yellow color. The high temperature of the water helps to prevent the tofu from becoming soft and keeps the moisture inside the tofu, resulting in a rich and tender dish. This way, the fried tofu will have a crispy outer layer and a soft interior.

Rub ginger on the pan

One important tip for making tasty fried tofu is to cut a few slices of fresh ginger and rub them evenly on the bottom and sides of the pan before adding oil. This method helps prevent sticking.

Hot and sufficient oil

In the tips for making crispy and delicious fried tofu, you must not forget the principle of using hot and sufficient oil for frying. This will give the tofu a crispy golden crust while keeping the inside soft. If you use too little oil, you will have to fry the tofu for a longer time, resulting in a dry interior and excessive oil absorption, making the dish greasy and heavy.

After frying the tofu until golden and crispy, remove it from the oil and let it drain.

Don’t flip too soon

Tofu is fragile, especially when it is of good quality. Therefore, when frying, don’t flip it too soon. Wait until one side of the tofu is golden before flipping it.
