Why is it said “Raising a daughter without teaching can harm three generations”?

The ancient proverb states: "If you raise a daughter without teaching her, it will harm three generations." This advice admonishes parents to educate and guide their children well, in order to prevent any harm that may befall future generations.

From the ancient saying we can see the importance of educating children. In fact, the education of both boys and girls is equally important.

According to tradition, women are the feng shui of the family. Because women not only affect the happiness of the family but also relate to the education of children in the future.

For families with daughters, parents must pay attention to whether they have achieved these 3 points in the process of raising children. Of course, this moral principle can also be applied to boys.

1. Know how to be humble, take steps back

Our ancestors had a saying “Children are blessings given by heaven, they are treasures of their parents, but spoiling them too much is harmful to them.” Every parent loves their children and always wants the best for them.

But love also needs to have willpower, we cannot spoil our children too much. Otherwise, your child will consider themselves the center, not willing to compromise, share, and live without humility.

Especially for girls, parents should not spoil them too much, causing them to have a princess-like, capricious, and difficult personality. Because when they grow up and marry into another family, it will be difficult for them to adapt, and their lives will also find it hard to be happy.

2. Know how to interact with others

Children have been continuously observing and naturally learning behaviors, attitudes, and how their parents interact with others since they were young.

Therefore, to teach children how to interact with others well, parents need to set a good example for them. Normally, parents must respect and take care of their grandparents, be enthusiastic in visiting and helping relatives in the neighborhood, and be gentle without raising their voices to each other.

In addition, parents also need to patiently instruct their daughters in the principles of interacting with others through specific situations.

3. Enhance knowledge, understand culture

There is an old saying “Knowledge determines vision, culture determines charisma”. A girl who is respected by others is someone who has inner attractiveness that radiates outward.

Knowledge and culture come not only from books, but mostly from oral transmission from generation to generation.

The more a girl reads, the richer her inner world becomes, the more she enhances her own value, and the more calmly she faces this complicated life.
