Breaded Shrimp Recipe à la Doãn H?i My

Breaded Shrimp is a beloved dish, appealing to both adults and children with its crispy exterior and tender, juicy shrimp inside. Perfect for any occasion, this recipe ensures straight, beautifully fried shrimp every time.

Ingredients

Fresh shrimp: 500g (Choose medium-sized white or tiger shrimp for sweetness and firmness.)

Crispy frying powder: 100g.

Breadcrumbs: 150g.

Eggs: 2.

Seasonings: 1/2 tsp seasoning powder, 1/3 tsp pepper, 1 tsp rice wine (to remove fishy odor).

Cooking oil.

Steps

Step 1: Prepare and straighten shrimp

Peel: Wash shrimp, remove shells and heads, leaving tails intact. Use a toothpick to remove veins.

Straighten: Flip shrimp belly-up, make 3-4 shallow cuts along the belly. Flip back, press gently on the back to hear a light “snap.” This prevents curling during frying.

Marinate: Pat dry, marinate with seasoning, pepper, and rice wine for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare coatings

Arrange three bowls in order:

Bowl 1: Dry crispy frying powder.

Bowl 2: Beaten eggs.

Bowl 3: Breadcrumbs.

Step 3: Coat shrimp (3-layer rule)

Hold shrimp by the tail, coat in crispy powder, shake off excess. Dip in egg, then press into breadcrumbs to fully coat (except tail).

Step 4: Deep-fry

Heat oil in a pan until a chopstick tip sizzles. Fry shrimp in batches over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Finished Product & Enjoyment

Result: Golden, straight shrimp with a crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior.

Serve: Enjoy hot with ketchup, chili sauce, or mayonnaise-chili cocktail sauce. Perfect for a crispy treat!

Wishing you success with this delightful dish!
