Why is lemon water not a good choice for hangover?
Many Vietnamese people believe that using lemon water, orange juice will help with hangover. But in fact, this method has many dangers. The reason is that lemon and orange water is acidic and can combine with food and alcohol in the stomach to cause more nausea and possible stomach damage. The water that should be given to them at this time is sugar water, salt water, honey or sugarcane juice, arrowroot powder water, mung bean water… The reason for giving them sweet water is that when drunk, many people have low blood sugar and a deep drop which leads to coma and death. When drinking alcohol, people usually eat and drink indiscriminately, so when they get drunk, they are very easy to have low blood sugar which causes dizziness and unconsciousness.
If you don’t give them sugar water, when they are unconscious, sleep apnea combined with a deep blood sugar drop will cause coma and fast death because the blood sugar drops too deep. Therefore, instead of drinking lemon or orange water, give them sugar water, salt water, honey, sugarcane juice to detoxify and also to improve their physical condition.
Absolute notes to remember when someone is drunk
At the end of the year, there are more cases of alcohol intoxication, even some people fall asleep and never wake up again. Folk people often think it’s because of the wind, but in fact it’s not. Many experts believe that the most dangerous death in people who are drunk is due to choking which causes respiratory obstruction leading to death.
When drunk, the body is not aware, so it cannot react quickly and the vomit from the stomach rushes into the esophagus causing respiratory obstruction.
This is the cause of death in people who drink alcohol that many people still don’t know. Therefore, when someone is drunk, the most important thing is to let them lie inclined, hold or use pillows to prop them up so that they don’t lie on their backs. If they lie on their backs, the risk of death from choking is very high.
Lie inclined if you feel nauseous, the food will be pushed out instead of going into the trachea.
Occasionally, remember to wake them up to avoid the situation where they are unconscious and unable to be detected. To keep them in an inclined position, you should take a pillow, blanket to support them to ensure their posture.
When they are drunk, if they are no longer conscious, you should not try to induce them to vomit, such as stimulating the throat or any maneuvers that help them vomit faster. Because when they are not conscious, inducing vomiting easily causes vomit to overflow into the lungs.
In the case where the drunk person has symptoms such as unconsciousness, speechlessness, convulsions, weak limbs, slurred speech, wheezing, excessive phlegm in the mouth, pale, it is necessary to take them to the emergency room early.
