Here are 15 ways to make your kitchen perfectly clean without spending a lot of money and effort.
1. Clean wooden cabinets
Mix one cup of water with 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup alcohol. Stir everything together and pour into a spray bottle. To disinfect and clean even more, add a drop or two of lavender oil. This unique mixture will easily remove lime and grease residue.
Note: Always wear rubber gloves while cleaning and don’t forget to ventilate the kitchen afterwards.
2. Remove lime scale from the kettle
To remove lime scale from the kettle, you will need one or two packets of citric acid, each packet weighing about 15 grams. The amount of acid needed depends on the condition of your kettle and the amount of lime scale.
The process is very simple. First, fill the kettle about 2/3 full with water, then add one packet of citric acid and bring the water to a boil for 3-5 minutes.
Note: After cleaning, discard the dirty water and rinse the kettle thoroughly by pouring clean water into the kettle, boiling it, and then pouring it out. Repeat this process twice before returning to daily use.
3. Clean the sink
Ammonia is very effective in removing lime scale. Add a small amount to water, apply this solution to the inside of the sink, and clean with hot water after 10 minutes.
4. Polish the microwave
Prepare a dish containing 300-500 ml of water, 2 tablespoons of 9% vinegar or 1 tablespoon of 70% vinegar essence.
Place the dish of water in the microwave and heat for 5 minutes (or maximum 10-15 minutes, depending on the level of dirt). Then, wait for the water to evaporate to dissolve the dirt on the walls of the microwave. After that, start cleaning the microwave from the inside.
Note: Don’t forget to wear rubber gloves.
5. Remove dirt from the range hood
Wet the kitchen hood filter with water from a spray bottle, then scrub them with a toothbrush dipped in detergent. Let it sit for 10 minutes and rinse under running water. That’s it.
Note: Always wear protective gloves.
6. Clean the oven
This is the best way to clean the oven. First, take 1 cup of baking soda, add 1 tablespoon of detergent, and add water until you have a liquid mixture. Apply this mixture to the surfaces with the most stains and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse the entire oven.
8. Make dishes shine
Dish soap is great for removing grease and lime scale from dishes. Just pour a little dish soap onto a sponge and scrub the dishes and glasses. Then, rinse them under water. That’s it – your dishes will be shiny like new.
9. Clean the stove
To clean the surface of the stove, take a brush and toothpaste. Put some toothpaste on the toothbrush and scrub the dirty areas. Wait for 10-15 minutes, then wipe the surface with a wet paper towel.
10. Clean the gas stove
You can easily clean a gas stove with a simple soap. Grate the soap into small pieces and add them to warm water to obtain a creamy cleaning solution. Apply this mixture to the stove and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then, rinse the stove with warm water.
11. Clean the stove grates
You can easily clean stove grates by soaking them in water with a little ammonia for 7-8 hours.
Note: Always wear protective gloves when handling ammonia.
12. Remove splattered grease
To remove splattered grease from the kitchen wall, use a thick soapy solution. It works well on both plastic and tile surfaces. The best way is to put some soap in a bowl, dilute it with water, and use this mixture to scrub the grease until it’s gone.
13. Clean window sills
A mixture of equal parts baking soda and laundry detergent, each about 1 tablespoon, will clean window sills of all types of dirt and yellow stains.
14. Clean frying pans
To clean enamel-coated pans from soot and grease residue on both the inside and outside, pour enough water to cover the entire pan. Add a few tablespoons of dishwashing gel and some baking soda. Then, place the pan with the solution on the stove and boil for half an hour. Wait for the liquid to cool down, remove the pan, rinse it under running water, and wipe it thoroughly.
15. Disinfect sponges
Kitchen sponges get dirty very quickly and become a breeding ground for harmful bacteria, which can then transfer to your dishes after using such a sponge. To prevent this, simply wet the sponge and place it in the microwave on high power for 2 minutes. However, make sure the sponge doesn’t contain any metal and let it cool for a few minutes before removing it.
