1. Present your vegetables beautifully
Researchers from the University of Oxford conducted an experiment with three groups of people: the first group would eat visually appealing mixed vegetables, the second group would have the vegetables arranged neatly in rows, and the third group would have the vegetables piled up. All the dishes had the same ingredients, preparation method, and seasonings, but the visually appealing mixed vegetables were preferred by many. Many people admitted that they were willing to pay double the price for aesthetically pleasing and attractive mixed vegetables. We not only enjoy food with our stomachs but also with our eyes, so besides choosing healthy foods, try to present them attractively!
2. Have a light meal before shopping
According to a 2013 study conducted by Cornell University (USA), avoiding hunger before going grocery shopping will affect your weight loss diet. The participants were asked to fast for 5 hours and then go to the supermarket to buy food. These people bought 18.6% more food than usual, with high-calorie foods such as French fries and ice cream increasing by 44.8%. A similar study was conducted on people who had just finished lunch. Compared to those who fasted before shopping, these people bought 25% less food, including low-calorie options such as vegetables. So, before going shopping, for the sake of your weight loss diet, have a light meal.
3. Get some sunlight
The timing, intensity, and duration of sunlight exposure in a day will significantly affect your weight. A study by Northwestern University showed that people who exposed to sunlight moderately in the morning had lower BMI (body mass index). In fact, the later the time of sun exposure, the higher the BMI, and vice versa. These numbers are not related to individual exercise regimes, calorie intake, sleep duration, and age. Researchers believe that sunlight affects the body’s biological clock, metabolic processes, and weight. Therefore, spend 20 to 30 minutes each day in contact with sunlight around 8 in the morning.
4. Focus on eating
If you eat and browse the web at the same time, you will consume more calories than if you just focus on eating. According to a study published in the Clinical Nutrition journal of the USA, people who eat and play games at the same time feel full for longer and get hungry faster than normal people. So, to maintain a balanced figure, try to focus only on eating and not do other activities.
