1. Soak in warm water
You can directly wash your child’s plastic sandals under water and then dry them outside, but for canvas sneakers, to get rid of dirt, you need to soak the shoes in warm soapy water. Change the water regularly until most of the dirt is gone, then use an old cloth or a toothbrush to remove the remaining dirt. Finally, rinse with cold water and let it dry.
2. Use a cleaning agent
Take advantage of child-friendly stain-removing products to remove more stubborn stains (such as blood and other stains). In this case, a mixture of baking soda and water will work. You can apply this mixture directly to the stains, then soak in water and rinse clean, finally dry in a place without sunlight (any cleaning product can cause fabric to fade when exposed to sunlight).
3. Try quick cleaning agents
Super fast cleaning products for other household items can also be effective in cleaning shoe soles. You can use them to clean mud or other unknown dirt that sticks to your child’s shoes.
4. Use a toothbrush
Try using a toothbrush, whether old or new, you still need a good toothbrush to clean the sole and fabric to make it clean and crisp as new. After scrubbing, you continue to rinse under water before drying the shoes.
5. Take advantage of the help of a washing machine
Most sports shoes and canvas shoes are safe to wash in a washing machine, as long as you avoid using the dryer function of the washing machine, as it can cause the shoes to shrink. Instead, let the shoes air dry outside, or you can place them in front of the refrigerator to absorb heat. If you are worried about the fabric fading, avoid direct sunlight.
