A Sweet Update: Kinder Chocolate Treats Now Available in Vietnam

Following the official correspondence from the Ministry of Industry and Trade regarding the recall of Kinder chocolate products manufactured by Ferrero in Belgium, the company has now released a statement addressing the issue.

On April 14th, the Domestic Market Department issued a document stating that some international food safety management agencies and Ferrero company have identified the potential presence of Salmonella bacteria in certain Kinder chocolate products manufactured in Belgium. The company is initiating a product recall as a precautionary measure.

Hương Thủy Trading Service Joint Stock Company, the importer of Ferrero products, including Kinder chocolate, has released a statement regarding this issue:

“Ferrero would like to emphasize that the Vietnamese market is not affected by the voluntary recall of Kinder Surprise products by the Ferrero Group for certain batches produced in Belgium.”

At this moment, regarding the reported cases of Salmonella contamination in relevant countries, Ferrero is closely collaborating with food safety authorities to establish a link between the products and the reported cases of Salmonella infection. Although no Kinder products released to the market have tested positive for Salmonella, Ferrero remains vigilant and continues to conduct tests.

Furthermore, the brand has clarified that the Kinder products imported into Vietnam through the distributor, Hương Thủy Company, including Kinder Joy and Kinder Bueno, are manufactured at the Baramati (India) and Alba (Italy) plants. No cases of Salmonella contamination have been reported in association with products made at these facilities.
