Air conditioning on or doors closed first? Surprisingly different results.

I used to think closing or turning on the air conditioner, which one to do first didn't matter, there was no difference. But recently, I have come to realize that I was wrong.

Hot and uncomfortable sunlight, for many people, the first thing to do when they come home from work is to turn on the air conditioning. You cannot deny the benefits that air conditioning brings, but are you really using it correctly? Do you know whether to turn on the air conditioner first or close the door first?

Many people will close all windows and doors, and only start the air conditioner when there are no more gaps in the house. They think that by doing so, the temperature in the room will quickly drop because at that time, the cold air is not dispersed, and it will also save energy.

In fact, I used to think so too. But a while ago, when the technician came to maintain the air conditioner, I realized that I had been doing it wrong for years.

In reality, you should not close the doors and then turn on the air conditioner. The reason is that the air conditioner is considered a “bacterial nest” in the house, being covered in dust all year round, it is easy to become a breeding ground for bacteria, mold, viruses,…When the air conditioner is working, the blown air will carry bacteria, dust,…blowing into the room.

If you close the doors after turning on the air conditioner or immediately close the doors after turning on the air conditioner, the dust and bacteria from the air conditioner will circulate in the house and can enter the human body through the respiratory system, affecting your health.

However, not closing the doors when turning on the air conditioner is also wrong. At this time, the temperature in the room is difficult to decrease to the desired level, even though the air conditioner has to operate continuously, consuming more electricity. This not only consumes more energy but also makes us uncomfortable because the room is not as cool as desired, and it also reduces the lifespan of the equipment.

The correct way is to first turn on the air conditioner, then after 10 minutes, close the windows and doors. By doing this, some dust and bacteria inside the air conditioner will escape along with the air, preventing them from circulating in a closed room.

After 10 minutes, when the air reaches a stable state, close the windows and doors to avoid wasting energy. That way, the air quality in your house will be significantly improved.

In addition, when using the air conditioner regularly, we should also pay attention to the following to improve the cooling efficiency of the air conditioner, prolong the lifespan of the equipment, and avoid health problems:

– Do not frequently turn on/off the air conditioner, as this not only consumes electricity but also reduces the lifespan of the equipment.

– Regularly clean the air conditioner can greatly improve the cooling efficiency and reduce the risk of disease. Note that cleaning not only the air filter and the machine casing but also the fan blades, evaporator, and condenser.

– Turn off the air conditioner about 30 minutes before going out to maximize the remaining cold air in the room.

– At night, use the sleep mode or schedule the machine to turn off at night, saving electricity and ensuring users have a comfortable and pleasant sleep.
