Balloons are very popular in life. They are not only children’s toys or decorations for birthdays and holidays, but balloons also have many other amazing uses in life that you may not know. Here are some uses of balloons in the bathroom, toilet, that you can refer to.
Eliminate odor, kill bacteria in the toilet
As you may know, the toilet is a place where many bacteria breed and it easily emits unpleasant odor, so it requires frequent cleaning. But sometimes, even with daily cleaning, the smell from the toilet is still hard to avoid. At this time, you can use a balloon.
Actually, the balloon itself cannot eliminate the odor or kill bacteria in the toilet. To use a balloon for the toilet, first you pour toilet cleaner or scented water into the balloon, then you can place it under the faucet to add some water.
Note not to pour too much water, to avoid the balloon being too tight. Then, tie the mouth of the balloon tightly.
Balloons have strong elasticity, so when you pour water into it, it will automatically expand. At this time, use a needle or a small pin to poke 1-2 small holes on the balloon.
Next, pour the balloon containing toilet cleaner or scented water into the water tank of the toilet. This way, the scented water will mix with the water in the tank, once you press the flush button, the water will flow down, effectively eliminating the odor of the toilet.
Alternatively, you can replace the balloon containing toilet cleaner with a toothpaste tube with holes on the body, or a soap bar, or a toilet deodorant… all work.
Eliminate odor from the drainage system
The drainage system of the bathroom can emit unpleasant odor, and even some small insects fly up from it. At this time, you can use a balloon to solve these problems.
First, use scissors to cut a hole at the bottom of the balloon to secure the drain cover under the floor. Because the balloon has elasticity, you don’t need to cut a too large hole.
Next, lift up the floor drain cover, and insert the balloon. Do as shown in the picture.
Then, cut off part of the balloon’s blowing hole, so you have a simple drain cover.
When water flows through the drainpipe, the mouth of the balloon will automatically open for the water to flow down. When the water stops flowing, the mouth of the balloon will also automatically seal tightly, not only preventing the spread of odor but also blocking some small insects from flying up.
With this method, you should replace the balloon every 1-2 months.
