We should not overuse plastic bags, especially when it comes to food storage. You can use high-quality bags that do not contain BPA to store strong-smelling foods like jackfruit and durian. Choose clear, colorless bags with a high level of transparency and bright, fresh colors. The surface of the bag should not be dull or scratched.
Raw and cooked foods should be stored separately in different compartments of the fridge. Before placing raw food in the fridge, make sure to clean it thoroughly and store it in clean, sealed bags or containers. Fruits and vegetables emit different gases, so storing them together can cause one or the other to spoil faster. Therefore, it is best to keep gas-emitting fruits like avocados, bananas, peaches, plums, and pears outside the fridge.
Leftovers like soup, porridge, and cake should be tightly wrapped before being placed in the fridge to prevent bacterial contamination. The ideal temperature for the fridge compartment is 4-5 degrees Celsius or lower, while the freezer compartment should be kept below 0 degrees Celsius.
Overusing plastic bags is an unhealthy habit that you should break immediately to protect the health of your family.
