Ho Chi Minh City is ringing in the new year with a spectacular celebration! On December 31st, the city will host a night of artistic fireworks, cultural performances, and stunning light displays in the downtown area to welcome 2020 in style.
1 Fireworks Display
The city will light up the sky with a high-range fireworks display at the beginning of the Saigon River tunnel (in District 2) and at the Landmark 81 building (in Binh Thanh District) as the clock strikes midnight. Additionally, there will be a low-range fireworks show at the Dam Sen Cultural Park (in District 11). The fireworks will illuminate the night from 12:00 am to 12:15 am on January 1st, 2020.
2 Artistic Lights
To further enhance the festivities, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee will present an artistic lighting and 3D graphics show on the facade of the People’s Committee building (facing Le Thanh Ton Street) on the night of December 31st.
3 Countdown Lights 2020
Starting from 8 pm on December 31st until the early hours of January 1st, the Nguyen Hue Walking Street will come alive with a vibrant event featuring music, light shows, and traditional and modern dance performances. Popular Vietnamese artists such as Son Tung M-TP, Vu Cat Tuong, Trong Hieu, Ngot Band, Phan Manh Quynh, Vo Ha Tram, Do Hai Anh, Lyricist, and MC Tran Thanh will also be part of the celebration.
A special clock tower will be set up to count down the new year, operating from December 29th to 31st, and three large LED screens will be placed along the walking street for all to enjoy.
