Cleaning your pot lid, a familiar item in our daily lives primarily used for cooking, can be a tedious task due to the accumulation of grease and grime. The following is a simple and effective tip to clean your pot lid without any hassle, making it look brand new.
A Simple and Effective Tip to Clean Your Pot Lid
First, pour a small amount of dish soap inside and outside the lid.
Then, use your hands to spread the soap evenly, especially in areas with concentrated grease stains.
Next, prepare a pot of water and add a small amount of white vinegar. White vinegar not only disinfects and kills bacteria, but it also effectively softens stubborn stains.
Turn on your gas stove and adjust the flame to high heat. Place the lid that needs cleaning upside down on the pot.
Maintain high heat for about 3 minutes, then turn down the heat to low and continue heating for another 3 minutes. By this time, you should see that most of the grease and stains on the inside of the lid have been removed.
Flip the lid and continue heating for another 3 minutes.
During the heating process, you will notice that the grease on the lid starts to drip off automatically.
After about 3 minutes, turn off the heat and remove the lid. Rinse it with water, and you will find that your pot lid is as good as new, even the stubborn grease in the crevices will be gone.
This method works because the steam helps melt away the grease, and when combined with dish soap, it enhances the cleaning power to dissolve the grease. Secondly, the evaporation of white vinegar not only disinfects but also softens stubborn stains, even in small crevices. Therefore, covering the pot lid and heating it in vinegar water is more effective than washing it directly with dish soap.
With this simple tip, you can easily and quickly remove stubborn grease and stains from your pot lids without the need for tedious scrubbing. If you’re looking to clean your pot lids, give this trick a try, and you won’t be disappointed with the results!
