Sleep is an essential part of everyone’s life. It’s a time for the body to rest and recharge. A good night’s sleep will provide us with the energy to work and study effectively the next day. Unfortunately, most of us experience sleep disturbances.
There are many reasons why you might not get a good night’s sleep, such as weather, a bright room, or noise. However, one thing that few people consider is the mattress they sleep on. We often only change the bedsheet regularly and think that’s enough to keep it clean.
But the reality is different. Under that clean bedsheet is a mattress filled with dust, sweat, and even bed bugs. This can sometimes cause the mattress to have an unpleasant odor or make you feel itchy and uncomfortable when lying down, thus preventing you from getting the good night’s sleep you desire.

A woman also often feels uncomfortable, itchy, and irritated when lying on a mattress. After some research, she realized it was caused by the mattress she was sleeping on. So she decided to clean the mattress. She didn’t need any expensive chemicals; all she prepared was baking soda, essential oil, and a vacuum cleaner. That was enough to start cleaning the mattress.
First, remove all the bedsheets and put them in the washing machine. Then, open the box of baking soda and add about 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. Close the box and shake it well to combine the oil and break up any clumps of baking soda. Add any scent you like to the baking soda because essential oils are natural antibacterial agents.
Next, sprinkle baking soda all over the mattress, using the entire box. Now it’s time to “massage” the mattress. Use your hands to evenly spread the baking soda mixture onto the mattress, which will help deep clean the mattress. Leave the baking soda on the mattress for at least 1 hour. During this hour, you can clean the walls around the bed, tidy up the bed, and create a clean sleeping area. After 1 hour, use a vacuum cleaner to slowly remove all the baking soda from the mattress.

In addition to giving the mattress a pleasant scent, this mixture will eliminate dirt and moisture in the mattress, clean dust, and bed bugs, giving you a better night’s sleep. Remember to flip the mattress every 6 months to prolong its lifespan and prevent sagging.
