Minh Ha shared: “Today is Mio Phi Phong’s golden birthday. He was born on the 10th, and this year he turns 10—a special event that happens only once in a lifetime. Wishing Mio endless joy and happiness, my dear son. The whole family adores you.”

Often mistaken for her daughter’s sister in photos, the retired teacher remains a steadfast support, frequently accompanying the family on work trips and vacations, while also helping care for her grandchildren.

Born in 1968, Ly Hai began his career as a singer before becoming a director known for the blockbuster film series Lat Mat. He married Minh Ha in 2010. Despite their 17-year age gap, the couple is often praised for their compatibility and fulfilling marriage. Minh Ha also serves as a producer, collaborating with her husband on his film projects.
The couple has four children: Rio (Nguyen Hao Nhien, born 2011), Cherry (Nguyen Ha Hai My, born 2013), Sunny (Nguyen Tuye Minh, born 2014), and Mio (Nguyen Phi Phong, born 2016).

In the latest installment, Lat Mat 8: Vong Tay Nang, Hao Nhien and Hai My were given more significant roles, showcasing their dancing talents.
Ly Hai shared: “When I asked the children about their fees, my eldest son, Rio, simply said that being part of Mom and Dad’s films is already a joy, and he doesn’t need payment. He even said if he were paid, he’d give it back to us. The kids have never held large sums of money; the most they’ve received is a few million in lucky money, which they then give to us or their grandmother to keep. Whenever they need money for something or for a friend’s birthday, they ask for it back. I don’t want them to be influenced by money, so I always teach them to understand its value and spend wisely.”

The couple enjoys an enviable marital life.
Despite their wealth, Ly Hai and Minh Ha send their four children to public schools. They believe this helps the children avoid entitlement and fosters humility, allowing them to grow up in an environment similar to their parents’.
