Blackheads occur when your pore is clogged with dead skin cells. It takes persistence and patience to achieve healthy skin. Incorporating a toner into your skincare routine will always help clean your pores.

Blackhead Toner

Rose Water

Rose water helps maintain the pH balance on the skin, refreshes the skin, and also moisturizes the skin well. It has anti-inflammatory properties and also rejuvenates the skin. This type of toner has a pleasant fragrance that helps you relax immediately and is very gentle on the skin.

Witch Hazel

This type of water helps soothe inflamed skin, calm irritated skin, and fight against blackheads, remove excess oil from the skin, and tighten pores. Using witch hazel also slows down signs of aging. But note that people with extremely dry skin should avoid incorporating this product into their skincare routine.

Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid, which increases blood flow to the skin. It also exfoliates dead skin cells and removes dirt from the pores. This also takes care of maintaining the pH balance on the skin. Apple cider vinegar reduces excess sebum production, reduces acne. Additionally, acetic acid may be helpful in treating skin-related issues.

Cucumber Juice:

Cucumber seed oil nourishes and rejuvenates your skin, containing phytosterol that protects your skin from moisture loss and hydrates your skin. Cucumber seed oil repairs damaged skin. It contains Vitamin E and therefore keeps your skin well-nourished and also has anti-aging properties.

What you need:

Rose water: ½ cup

Witch hazel: ¼ cup

Apple cider vinegar: 1 tablespoon

Cucumber juice: 1 tablespoon

Take a spray bottle and add ½ cup of rose water, ¼ cup of witch hazel, 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of cucumber juice. Then shake the bottle well and store it in the refrigerator.

Alternatively, you can store it in a regular container. Use a cotton pad and gently pat it all over your face.

Frequently asked questions

Blackheads are a type of acne that forms when hair follicles become clogged with excess oil and dead skin cells. They appear as small, dark plugs on the surface of the skin, usually on the face, and can be difficult to remove.

Toners help to restore the natural pH balance of your skin and remove any remaining traces of dirt, oil, and makeup. They can also help to shrink pores, giving them a less visible appearance. Using a toner is an important step in your skincare routine as it prepares your skin to better absorb the benefits of serums and moisturizers.

You can easily make a natural toner at home by using ingredients like apple cider vinegar, green tea, or rose water. For example, mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water, and apply it to your skin with a cotton ball. This natural toner helps to balance the pH of your skin and remove excess oil.

To target blackheads specifically, try these toner recipes: Mix equal parts baking soda and water to form a paste. Gently massage this onto your skin, focusing on areas with blackheads. Another recipe is to mix lemon juice and honey in equal proportions. Apply this mixture to your skin and leave it on for about 10 minutes before rinsing.

It is generally recommended to use a toner once or twice a day, depending on your skin type. If you have dry or sensitive skin, start with once a day and gradually increase if needed. For oily skin, you may benefit from using a toner twice daily to help control excess oil production.

Always do a patch test before using any new product, including natural toners, to ensure you don’t have an adverse reaction. Additionally, be cautious when using toners containing acidic ingredients like lemon juice or apple cider vinegar, as they can irritate sensitive skin. Dilute these ingredients with water and discontinue use if irritation occurs.
