Dương Thị Cẩm Vân was a champion who continuously guarded the trenches and encircled the enemy at the Dam Doi military sub-division. Notably, during her revolutionary activities, the female hero participated in 130 battles, eliminating 57 enemies and shooting down an airplane. One could say that Dương Thị Cẩm Vân dedicated her youth to the cause of national liberation and was honored with the title of “Female Trench Champion” in 1996. Furthermore, on April 28, 2000, she was bestowed the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” by the state.

Dam Doi Bird Sanctuary is a vast area located next to the Dam Doi River and a vast mangrove forest. This sanctuary spans 132 hectares, including 43 hectares of artificial mangroves, 21 hectares of natural mangroves, 12 hectares of shrub plantations, and 38 hectares of canals and large shrimp ponds. This site is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, encompassing 61 rare plant species, such as stenochlaena palustris and excoecaria agallocha, and 116 different bird and animal species. Among these, 15 bird species are listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world.
