Regarding transportation, Quỳnh suggested taking a tourist bus from Hanoi to Lào Cai City, with ticket prices ranging from 260,000 to 350,000 VND, depending on the bus type. From there, you can either take a Hi Lạp bus to Y Tý (approximately 120,000 VND) or rent a motorbike and go directly to the commune.
For the first day, Quỳnh recommended staying at the Y Tý Clouds homestay, praising it for its excellent cloud-gazing spot. The day’s itinerary included checking in at the S-shaped pass, where you might catch a glimpse of mist or even a sea of clouds on rainy days. If time allows, a visit to Ngòi Thầu and its famous photo-op rock is also suggested.
In the afternoon, head to Chồn Tiên Park, the most renowned park in Lào Cai. You can opt to watch the sunset there or return to the homestay, as both locations offer unique and captivating beauty.

On your way back, don’t forget to stop by Thèn Pả Valley and the Thiên Sinh Bridge, Vietnam’s shortest bridge, which also marks the border between Vietnam and China.
Have a hearty lunch back at the homestay, and in the early afternoon, commence your journey back to Lào Cai City and eventually back to Hanoi.

It’s important to note that the road to Y Tý is still under construction and in poor condition, so take this into consideration before heading out. If you’re not comfortable with rough roads, the journey might be tiring, which could impact your overall enjoyment of the experiences.
