Congratulations to Kỳ Duyên on achieving her second crown. How did you feel about winning this title without having to close your personal page like many other recent beauty queens?

The moment I won was a reward for my hard work and sacrifices. Over the past 10 years, I have also achieved certain milestones, but setting those aside to join this competition again was indescribable. Now, with this crown, I feel that my efforts were truly worth it, and I could even wear this crown to bed.

It seems that Kỳ Duyên has extensive experience in beauty pageants, having been a coach for many contests. Was your victory too easy considering your potential and background?

When I registered and uploaded my profile, it was quite overwhelming, and I received almost 200,000 likes. I was thrilled to have such massive support. However, what people see is just the tip of the iceberg. The pressure of being a well-known coach, having experience, and being famous inadvertently affected my performance. In episode 2, I was in the danger zone due to my poor showing. I had to figure out how to face my supporters, and eventually, I found my youthful dream, which gave me the strength to try harder.

Kỳ Duyên is beautiful and brilliant, but she also had to work hard to achieve her current success.

On social media, a detail that has gone viral is Kỳ Duyên’s surprisingly simple nail choice. Why did you choose this nail style?

Actually, I love simplicity, and it gives me confidence. For the finale, I gave 200 to 300% of my effort. Miss Universe is very competitive, so I had to be meticulous. If I had worn long nails, they might have gotten caught in my hair or dress, affecting my comfort and focus, which wouldn’t have been ideal.

As a celebrity in a beauty pageant, Kỳ Duyên has a strong team, a management company, and a solid foundation in showbiz. Have you signed a contract with the Miss Universe Vietnam organization after your victory?

Currently, I feel very fortunate. After winning, I gained another family, Miss Universe Vietnam. During this media tour, they have supported me wholeheartedly and contributed to keeping my energy at its best. From now until I go to Mexico, I will always be with my new family.

Some comments suggest that Kỳ Duyên hasn’t fully demonstrated her language skills yet. How will you prepare your language skills to feel more confident on your upcoming international journey?

To me, Vietnamese is a beautiful language. When stepping onto the international stage and entering critical rounds, I want to use my mother tongue to leave a unique impression. However, English is essential in an international pageant, so I’m improving my English daily to communicate and connect better.

Kỳ Duyên is satisfied with her current looks.

Will Kỳ Duyên consider plastic surgery to enhance her looks, or is she happy with her current appearance?

Regarding my appearance, I’m satisfied with about 70% of it. This year’s Miss Universe pageant will be in Mexico, and the Latin American contestants will be stunning and hot. I’m working on my body to be more defined and sexy so I won’t be overshadowed. However, to have the perfect measurements for the international stage, I need to train harder.

Can you name one book that you will definitely read in the near future?

Recently, I finished reading “Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life.” This book helped strengthen my mental health and mindset. Moving forward, I want to read more books to improve myself for Miss Universe Vietnam 2024.

Can you name two weaknesses and two strengths that you have compared to other contestants at MUV 2024?

My weaknesses are that I find it hard to open up, and there’s pressure when I’m in the competition. My strengths are that I was crowned Miss Vietnam 2014, and I believe in myself!
