Binh An’s wife, a Hanoi native, meant that the couple often visited her parents. Last Saturday, the ‘Run Away With Me’ actor helped clean his in-laws’ house and discovered a secret about his wife from their early dating days.

Binh An and Phuong Nga have been married for two years.

“I found a notebook that belonged to Phuong Nga from when we first started dating. She said she kept a record in case I ever asked for my gifts back. Looking back, I guess I did put in a lot of effort to court her. And this was just from the first two weeks,” Binh An shared.

The notebook had clear records of “times Binh An took Phuong Nga out to eat or hang out” and “gifts Binh An gave to Phuong Nga.” Even small items like socks, slippers, milk tea, or dried apricots were carefully noted.

What stood out was her additional note about not consuming certain gifts. “She bought me milk and bread, but she noted that she didn’t eat them. I still had to pay for them, though, according to her,” Binh An jokingly teased his wife after discovering her old notebook.

In the comments, Binh An revealed that at the time, Phuong Nga was just a first-year student and not yet a runner-up in a beauty pageant. The gifts, though small, and the outings, though not luxurious, were a significant investment for Binh An seven years ago.

Phuong Nga explained that Binh An was her “first love,” so she was cautious and wanted to keep a record in case they broke up and he asked for his gifts back.

Now, two years into their marriage, the dynamics have shifted. Binh An shared that Phuong Nga is in charge of finances, and he has to ask her for an allowance. He further revealed that he prefers the traditional way of having his wife manage their finances, while Phuong Nga comes from a modern and independent family. He had to convince her to let him give her his earnings, and she agreed to keep them safe.

Initially, Phuong Nga gave him 500,000 VND (around 21 USD) per day for pocket money, but after sharing this on Facebook, his friends commented that it was too much, so she reduced it to 200,000 VND (around 8.5 USD). Binh An joked that he hardly needed this money when he was just filming because he took care of his meals, and the production team provided lunch and dinner. He humorously added that he sometimes asked the director to film until 11 p.m. so he could have dinner with the crew.
