Step 1: Prepare and marinate the shrimp

Heat oil in a pan over low heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the shrimp. Turn the heat up to medium and deep-fry the shrimp until the batter turns golden. Flip the shrimp over to ensure even cooking. Once the shrimp turn a reddish-brown color, remove them from the oil and drain on a wire rack.
