Recently, on the social media platform TikTok, an account named “Lien Yeu Nha” shared a short video demonstrating an effective way to clean during the humid season. The video garnered over 400,000 views, more than 8,000 likes, and hundreds of interested comments.
According to the young mother, a mixture of floor cleaner, toothpaste, and boiling water is the key to successful cleaning during the humid season.
The boiling water evaporates quickly, helping the floor dry faster, while the toothpaste, which contains nano silver, adds a shine to the floor and prevents dirt from sticking to the surface. By following this tip, your floor will stay dry and comfortable during the humid season.
Many viewers have enthusiastically embraced the young mother’s tip, with some confirming that they have successfully tried this method and praising its effectiveness in keeping their homes clean during the challenging humid season.
“It works! I also clean my floors with hot water, and it dries much faster. Adding toothpaste makes the floor even cleaner,” one comment read. “I tried this method, and my floor was indeed dry,” said another. “With this tip, the humid season is no longer a worry for me.”

Lien keeps her home dry and comfortable during the humid season by cleaning with hot water and keeping the doors closed.
In an interview with VietNamNet, Ms. Nguyen Viet Lien (born 1987, from Haiphong) – the owner of the video – shared that she has been using this cleaning method during the humid season for many years and has found it to be very effective.
“I was born and raised in Son Tay, Hanoi, but I’ve been living in Haiphong as a daughter-in-law for 15 years. In Son Tay, I noticed that the humid season only lasted a few days, but in Haiphong, it can last for a whole month,” she said.
“During this time, not only do the floors become wet and slippery, but the kitchen is also constantly damp, sometimes even developing black mold despite daily cleaning. It’s a very unpleasant feeling,” Lien added.
Determined to find a solution, Lien began seeking advice from her mother and learned about cleaning with hot water to speed up the drying process. She also discovered through social media that adding toothpaste to the cleaning solution could make the floor shinier and cleaner.
“I combined these two methods to keep my floors clean and dry during the humid season. I’ve been doing this for many years now, and it works great, so I wanted to share it with others,” she said. “However, it’s important to note that after cleaning, you should keep the doors closed to prevent moisture from entering and causing the floors to become damp again,” Lien advised.

“Additionally, I have a few other tips to prevent clothes, walls, and wooden furniture from becoming damp and moldy during the humid season. Firstly, always keep the doors closed to prevent moisture from entering. Secondly, clean with hot water, wipe the surfaces with a dry cloth, and then turn on the air conditioner to the drying mode to keep the air in your home dry and comfortable,” Lien suggested.
Lien used to work in an office, but a year ago, she decided to quit her job to focus on homemaking and taking care of her family full-time.
In the past year, she has learned many useful tips and tricks for cooking and cleaning, such as how to clean a burnt pot, how to peel eggs easily, how to remove fishy odors, and how to freshen up a room and repel mosquitoes.
“After experimenting with these tips and finding success, I like to share them on my personal page for others to benefit from. It’s also a way for me to keep track of these helpful hints for myself and my children,” Lien shared.
