The Tan Ba flower village, spanning approximately 80 hectares in Thai Hoa ward, Tan Uyen city, sits alongside the Dong Nai river. This village, formed over 20 years ago, is one of the largest remaining flower villages in Binh Duong province, amidst rapid urbanization in the region.

Along DT 747 road leading into Tan Ba hamlet, locals cultivate a vibrant array of flowers, including chrysanthemums, marigolds, cockscombs, butterfly flowers, and sunflowers, on both sides of the road.
Every year, starting around the 22nd of the lunar month, trucks flock to this village to transport flowers for sale in the eastern provinces of Southern Vietnam, such as Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai.
The orange-red marigold is the most prevalent flower grown in Tan Ba, favored by the market.
Ms. Tu, a long-time flower grower and member of the Tan Ba Cooperative, shared that her family cultivates 3,000 marigold plants for the 2025 Lunar New Year market. As of now, most of the flowers have been sold to traders.
Garden owners are delighted as the favorable weather this year has resulted in uniform and timely blooming, just in time for the Lunar New Year celebrations.
In addition to the specialty marigolds, the fields of Tan Ba also boast a colorful assortment of flowers such as cockscombs, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums.
Alongside the Lunar New Year flower fields, many households plant additional flowers for the Rằm Tháng Giêng (Full Moon Festival) in the first lunar month. “These flower beds didn’t bloom in time for Tet, so we’re taking care of them for the Rằm,” shared a local grower.
In addition to wholesale sales, many households along the flower fields also display a variety of flowers for retail customers passing by, offering a diverse range of colors and species.
“The vibrant flower fields are a sight to behold, so I couldn’t help but capture these beautiful moments,” shared Lan, a visitor from Tan Uyen city, on the evening of January 17th.
According to the flower growers, the fields attract many young people for sightseeing and photography starting from the 20th of the lunar month.

To reach Tan Ba flower village from Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can take National Highway 1K to Hoa An Bridge, turn left onto DT 16 along the Dong Nai river. Alternatively, from Thu Dau Mot city in Binh Duong province, travel along Provincial Road 747 for about 15 kilometers to reach the village.
The best times for photography are from 9 am to 11 am and 3 pm to 5 pm. As the flowers are planted at different times, they will continue to bloom even after the Lunar New Year.
