In the midst of the bustling firecrackers and well-wishes from family and friends, the groom, dressed in a dapper suit and holding a vibrant bouquet, needed only to take six steps from his doorstep to that of the bride’s, a journey of less than ten seconds. This momentous occasion has been dubbed the “closest wedding procession in history.”

A unique and emotionally charged wedding procession

Zhou Ping, the individual who uploaded the video and also served as the wedding MC, shared that this extraordinary wedding took place on Longhai Road in Erqi District, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China, at around 9 am on June 3rd. Despite the short distance, the wedding rituals were conducted with great solemnity and emotion.

As the groom entered the bride’s home, her family stood in two rows, holding vibrant red roses. He walked between these rows, and each family member presented him with a rose, while the groomsmen handed over a red envelope.

Zhou Ping explained that this was a ceremony called “a path of blooming flowers.” Notably, there was no traditional “blocking of the door” but instead small, joyous games that created a festive and cheerful atmosphere.

“According to customs in Zhengzhou,” he added, “after the wedding procession, the bride and groom do not return immediately to the groom’s house but instead take a ride around the city in their wedding car before heading to a hotel for the wedding banquet.”

Zhou Ping expressed his joy at being able to capture and share this delightful moment with everyone. He shared that after graduating as a broadcaster and MC, he had been working as a wedding MC in Zhengzhou and other places for 15 years. In his career, this was the closest wedding procession he had ever witnessed.
