To get rid of the vinegar smell, wash the plastic with soap and warm water afterward.
Using alcohol
Alcohol can be used as a chemical-free solution for stubborn glue. Dip a cotton pad in alcohol and apply it to the adhesive. As you rub, the remaining glue will come off. Continue rubbing until all the glue is removed, and reapply more alcohol as needed.
Using mayonnaise or peanut butter
If the plastic is not porous, mayonnaise or peanut butter can be used. These foods contain oil, which can seep into porous plastics. For harder plastic, cover the glue spot with a thick layer of mayonnaise or peanut butter, and let it sit for 30 minutes before removing.
Using a rubber eraser
If there is a thin layer of glue, such as residue from a label, you can rub a rubber eraser on top of it to remove it.
Using a special glue cleaner
If the above methods do not work, you can try using a store-bought glue remover such as Goo Gone or WD-40. These specialized products are highly effective in removing adhesives from plastics.
