Hien, like many other girls, has a passion for wearing beautiful outfits and especially loves high heels. However, she struggled at first to walk in them and often fell and bruised her heel. With guidance from her cousin, who is a model from the Vietnam Next Top Model 2012 program, Hien was able to conquer the challenge of walking in high heels. Here, she shares her accumulated experience with you.
Walking Distance
Walking distance is crucial when wearing any type of shoes, especially high heels. When wearing high heels, it is important to walk gently and take short steps rather than long strides. Taking short steps helps to maintain stability and prevent foot pain when walking in high heels frequently. Small, steady, and slow steps allow for easy adjustment of walking posture and create a feminine and graceful image.
How to Place Your Feet When Wearing High Heels
Many people complain about the pain of wearing high heels. Initially, Hien also thought it was due to the height of the shoes, but she soon realized that it was actually the way she walked that caused the pain. The design of high heels, with the heel higher than the toe of the shoe, causes the body weight to be concentrated on the toe and can lead to foot pain and swelling with prolonged wear or standing. To prevent foot pain, it is important to touch the ground with the heel first, reducing the weight on the toe. Remember that the order of parts that touch the ground when walking in high heels should be the heel, the sole of the foot, the ball of the foot, and finally the toes.
Posture When Wearing High Heels
Pay attention to your posture when moving in high heels. Avoid leaning forward and keep your back straight with a slightly sunken stomach. Keep your hands loose and natural, with your head aligned with your spine and your chin parallel to the ground. Bending the knees slightly instead of keeping them stiff allows for a more natural and confident stride. Hien learned this secret from supermodel Xuan Lan while watching the Vietnamese model show!
How to Choose and Get Used to High Heels
Once you have gained confidence in walking in high heels, it is important to choose shoes that fit well and are not too high. This will enhance your confidence and stability while walking. Stay updated with new shoe models showcased in fashion shows to stay on top of the latest trends. A useful trick to get used to wearing high heels is to practice standing on one foot while wearing them. This not only improves balance but also reduces foot pain. However, be cautious as it can be a bit risky and may result in falls during practice.
In addition to the aforementioned factors, such as taking short steps, paying attention to foot placement, maintaining proper posture, and choosing suitable shoes, there are a few more tips for walking well in high heels. Make sure to walk on a straight path and keep your eyes forward. Maintain a straight back with eyes forward, similar to a model’s posture. If you have just purchased a new pair of shoes, practice walking in them first. Leave behind any worries about them getting worn out. Remember, if you don’t practice, you may fall and lose face.
As the saying goes, every girl should choose the most suitable and beautiful shoes, as they can lead to happiness. Be a confident girl and always stand firm!
