After hearing the airline attendants announce that the aircraft has landed safely, most passengers are in the mindset of preparing to collect their luggage and quickly leave the aircraft.

However, they are never allowed to disembark from the airport immediately. Flight attendants still require passengers not to leave their seats for quite a long time. This makes some passengers who travel by plane feel nervous, frustrated, and confused.
The reason passengers are not allowed to disembark immediately after landing
This is the regulation of the airline to ensure the safety of all passengers as well as the crew on that flight. According to the explanation of aviation experts, the announcement that the aircraft has landed is not a signal indicating the end of the flight.
When the aircraft touches the ground, the flight attendant will inform passengers of the time, weather, and outside temperature of the destination and ask passengers to remain seated, continue to fasten their seat belts until the signal light is off. During this time, the captain continues to roll the aircraft slowly on the runway to the parking area of the airline according to the regulations of the respective airport.
When the aircraft has stopped at the designated position, the captain will turn off the engine and the anti-collision light (flashing red light outside). This is also a form of notification for ground staff to safely approach, prepare post-flight procedures for all passengers to disembark.
At this point, inside the cabin, flight attendants also give a signal for passengers to unfasten their seat belts, stand up from their seats to stretch after sitting for hours.
If you are eager to disembark as quickly as possible to fulfill your own plans or simply to avoid congestion, this is when you can take your carry-on luggage out of the overhead compartment and stand ready at the aisle of the aircraft. However, this is often not encouraged, as many people standing up and moving around will cause congestion, chaos in the aisle area, and hinder the work of the crew.

On the other hand, you cannot disembark the aircraft at this time, because the process of disembarking passengers is only carried out when the engine has been completely shut down. Passengers must wait for ground staff to complete all procedures such as checking for any external damage, bringing the jet bridge, and adjusting it to match the aircraft door; ground staff communicating with the crew…
Only when these tasks are completed and all criteria are met, passengers are allowed to leave the aircraft.
In some cases, the waiting time for disembarking may be longer than normal due to ground staff having to adjust the jet bridge several times to match the aircraft door, multiple aircraft arriving at the same time and having to queue to enter the correct gate, the aircraft door being stuck… Whatever the reason, during this period, passengers should sit still and follow the instructions of the crew to be able to respond to unexpected incidents.
All flight regulations set by the airlines have reasons and aim to ensure the safety of passengers as well as the crew, so passengers need to comply.
