1. Choose jackfruit

Jackfruit comes in many varieties: honey jackfruit, firm jackfruit, squishy jackfruit, female jackfruit… among the jackfruit varieties, they differ in terms of weight, as well as taste and sweetness. Honey jackfruit is bright yellow, crispy, and has a rich sweet taste. Squishy or female jackfruit usually has a lighter color and taste compared to honey jackfruit.

When choosing jackfruit, pay attention to the ones with big, unsharp thorns, round and equable fruits. Press it with your hand and listen for a knocking sound.

If you buy pre-cut jackfruit, the yellow-colored ones are the tastiest.

2. Prevent sticky sap from sticking to your hands

When cutting jackfruit, you should wear gloves. If you accidentally get sticky sap on your hands, you can rub a layer of cooking oil on the palm of your hand, or rub your hands on a container of rice, and then wash your hands with warm saltwater, your hands will not stick to the sap.

To clean the sticky sap stuck on the knife, put the knife in the refrigerator, so the sap will harden, then it can be easily removed. You can also use a plastic bag to remove the sticky sap from the knife.

3. Jackfruit dishes

You can combine some ingredients from various herbs and mix them with jackfruit to make a salad, or stuff the jackfruit with meat and steam it until cooked, it will taste delicious.
