Absorb excess moisture in the refrigerator
Typically, fruits and vegetables are stored in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. However, due to the low temperature, fruits and vegetables tend to absorb a lot of moisture, thus losing their characteristic flavor.
These problems can be solved with a dishwashing sponge. First, you remove all fruits and vegetables from the separate compartment in the refrigerator, then place two dishwashing sponges at the bottom of the compartment.
Now you can put the fruits and vegetables back into the refrigerator and they will still be fresh thanks to the sponge that has absorbed moisture in the refrigerator.
Clean dust on woolen clothes
Your woolen clothes sometimes get dusty, especially those with fluff. They make you uncomfortable because you keep brushing but they never go away. Try using a new sponge, gently rub it on the surface of the clothes to remove dirt and fluff stuck on the clothes.
Grow plants
You always want to have a small, green garden in your home or grow clean vegetables in pots but don’t know where to start.
Then don’t overlook these sponges. What you need to do is quite simple.
Place a sponge on a plate or pot, place the seeds on the sponge (note: place enough distance between the seeds for them to grow).
Then place a glass bowl underneath. Place the plant pot in a place with lots of light and wait for these seeds to sprout.
Water for plants
Placing a sponge at the bottom of the pot will prevent your houseplant from experiencing water shortage. When watering the plant, the sponge at the bottom of the pot will absorb excess water. Rest assured that there will be no root rot due to excess water. On the contrary, the sponge will provide moisture to the plant when you forget to water it.
Remove nails from the wall
Sometimes, you want to remove a few nails from the wall but are afraid it will damage the beautiful wall. But in this case, you can still make use of the dishwashing sponge.
Usually, to remove a nail, the hammer head rubs against the wall, which causes scratches and peels the paint. Now you just need to place the sponge under the nail, the hammer head will no longer rub against the wall.
Make ice bags
This must be one of the favorite ways that many people use. Wet your sponge and squeeze it gently, put it in a zip-lock bag and put it in the refrigerator. Then, wrap it in a lunch box or bag and use it when needed.
Preserve fragile items
Lining glass, porcelain items with a sponge around is an effective way to prevent them from breaking during storage or transportation.
Treat bruises
If you have bruises on your skin, the sponge can help you. First, soak a clean sponge in cold water, then place it in a freezer-grade plastic bag, and then put it in the refrigerator.
Consider it an ice pack and all you have to do is apply it to the bruise.
