Normally, when buying a country chicken or native chicken, when gutting the chicken, people will find some chickens with a yellow fat mass, which feels quite heavy.

Many people wonder that if they buy a chicken with such a heavy fat mass, it must be a hole. However, food enthusiasts, especially farmers in rural areas, know that it is a “treasure” that cannot be bought even with money.

Why is there fat mass in the chicken’s belly?

First, we need to clarify that in normal cases, the digestive system of chickens does not produce this fatty mass. Therefore, if you see it in the chicken’s belly, it is likely that the chicken has been fed with grains (corn, millet, rice…) so the meat is very firm, rich in fat and carotenoids, which creates the shiny yellow color of the chicken fat in the stomach. The larger the fat mass, the longer it has been raised.

In general, only naturally raised chickens in gardens or forests have a fat mass in their belly, artificially raised chickens in farms will not have it. This can be explained by two reasons:

– The feed for raising chickens in general is protein-rich and low in fat, mainly for quick growth.

– The growth cycle of farm-raised chickens is very short, usually about 42 days, so it is difficult to accumulate fat in the belly.

Many people do not know that when they see such a fat mass, they should not throw it away, it is too wasteful. Like pork fat, chicken fat is not only fragrant but also has high nutritional value, containing a lot of protein, fat and essential nutrients for the human body. It has the effect of supplementing nutrition, improving physical strength, making the skin beautiful, enhancing the taste, and is very good for the body.

Parts of the chicken that should not be eaten

Chicken lungs

There are many parasites and bacteria residing in chicken lungs, even when it has been cooked at high temperatures. When you eat them, your body will feel uncomfortable, restless, or some people may not have any external reactions. Since this organ belongs to the chicken’s respiratory system, it is a place that contains many toxins and bacteria that cause various diseases depending on their living conditions. Therefore, it is best to remove this part when eating to prevent health risks.

Chicken intestines

These are the ‘extremely toxic’ parts of the chicken, filled with parasites, no matter how delicious this part is, you should eat less or avoid eating it for the sake of your health.

Chicken head

In fact, what chickens eat often tends to accumulate dirt in the head area, so if you do not clean the chicken’s head, you will inadvertently ingest many bacteria and parasites into your body. Perhaps eating once or twice will not have any effect, but if you eat too many chicken heads, these harmful substances will invade the human body and cause certain negative effects on health.
