Message verification is a new feature introduced by Apple in the latest iOS 17.2 operating system. This feature helps users identify the identity of the person they are messaging through verification codes. If there is a fake person, the system will send a warning to both parties to avoid any bad situations.

What is Contact Key Verification?

Contact key verification is designed to prevent highly complex cyber attacks and is not designed to prevent fraud or other forms of deception based on text messages.

How to enable iMessage Contact Verification

Step 1: To perform this feature, you need to check and update your iPhone to the latest iOS 17.2 operating system. If you haven’t updated to the latest operating system, follow these steps: Go to Settings on your phone > Select General Settings > Select Software Update > Press Update Now and wait for the system to update for a period of time.

Step 2: After the update is complete, you access the Settings app on the home screen > Press on the Account section on the first line to access your Apple ID account > Scroll down and choose Contact Key Verification.

Step 3: Next, you turn on Contact Verification in iMessage > Press Continue to complete.

Note: When you enable Contact Key Verification, you will be prompted to update all of your Apple devices to compatible software. If you have a device that cannot be updated, you need to sign out of iMessage on that device before you can enable this feature.
