As Tet approaches, everyone wants their home to be clean and tidy. However, cleaning a house that has gathered dust and dirt for a whole year can be a daunting task, making housewives feel anxious when starting the job.

In fact, we don’t even know where to start because the house is covered in dust everywhere from walls, floors, furniture to other objects. Truly, cleaning a house thoroughly is a difficult task that requires a lot of time and effort. Understanding the concerns of housewives when it comes to cleaning, this article will share with you some simple but effective tips that will make the cleaning process easier and quicker.

Useful tips for cleaning the house

1. Clean the window nets to prevent mosquitoes and insects

The window nets that prevent mosquitoes and insects from entering the house accumulate dust but are rarely cleaned, so they become quite dirty after a year. In fact, there is a good way to clean the window nets without removing them: Wet a piece of newspaper, then stick it onto the surface of the window net. After five minutes, when you remove the newspaper, you will see that it is damp and covered in dust and dirt. That way, with just a small trick, you can easily clean the window net, making it clean and as good as new without much effort.

2. Clean the glass

When cleaning windows and doors, peel an onion and cut it in half, rub it on the glass, then use a dry cloth to wipe it while the onion juice is still wet, so the glass can be cleaned and shiny. Alternatively, you can clean the glass with a damp cloth first, then dip a clean cloth in white vinegar, and use some force to wipe the glass. The result after cleaning is clean and shiny glass.

3. Clean hard-to-reach corners in the room

The corners of the room or the gaps between the carpet and the wall are the most difficult areas to clean, and they are also places where mold is more likely to grow. The solution for you is to clean these areas with an old toothbrush. If you encounter stubborn stains, you can use a toothbrush dipped in cleaning detergent to remove them, then rinse with clean water and let it dry.

4. Remove hooks

Wall hooks are quite convenient, but once they need to be removed, it can be very difficult. At this time, you just need to apply a cotton ball soaked in vinegar around the screw to let the vinegar seep into the gaps. After a few minutes, the screw can be easily removed with a flat-headed screwdriver. The remaining adhesive can also be wiped off with vinegar.

5. Clean white objects

White decorative items in the house are easy to get dirty, and it’s difficult to clean them completely with just a cloth. At this time, you can squeeze toothpaste onto a clean cloth, just wipe lightly to remove dirt from the objects. But when wiping, you should not exert too much force as it may damage the paint layer.

6. Defrost the refrigerator

When defrosting the refrigerator, first turn off the power. Then use an electric fan or a hairdryer at the maximum setting to blow into the freezer compartment. You will easily notice that when the wind blows, the frost will melt quickly, making it easy to remove the snow.

7. Clean the grout between tiles

The black residue in the grout lines between the tiles is always a problem that makes you headache. To solve this problem, you can squeeze an appropriate amount of toothpaste onto a toothbrush, and then brush the tile joints vertically. Then apply a layer of grout sealant to the joints. First, apply it vertically, then horizontally, so that the thickness of the sealant is equal to the thickness of the tiles. This way, it will be less likely to get oily. Similarly, for stained sinks, bathtubs, or porcelain and enamel utensils, you can use toothpaste to remove the residue.
