Itchy scalp can also be caused by dermatological conditions, which can cause prolonged discomfort and may be accompanied by more serious symptoms.

Treating an Itchy Scalp

Frequent Shampooing

If you have oily skin and tend to use gels, hair sprays, or styling products with high hold, these can cause a buildup of oil and dirt, making your scalp more sensitive and prone to itching. Shampooing frequently, about 2-3 times a week, can help remove dirt, excess oil, and impurities.

Use Gentle Ingredients

Opt for hair care products with gentle formulas. These products typically do not contain harsh chemicals like sulfates, parabens, or artificial fragrances, providing natural protection.

Hair Oil Treatment

This is an excellent solution to relieve itching and nourish your scalp effectively. Try blending natural essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, or geranium oil with a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba oil. These oils have anti-itch and anti-inflammatory properties and help soften the skin. Additionally, coconut or jojoba oil provides deep moisture, balancing oil production and promoting a healthy scalp and strong hair.
