Choosing the wrong foundation shade
Don’t assume that choosing a lighter foundation shade will make your skin lighter, as if not applied properly, it will make your face appear uneven. When buying foundation, it’s best to test it on the neck area and choose a shade that is closest to your skin tone.
Using too much concealer
High coverage, with various shades suitable for different skin tones and a range of beneficial functions such as concealing dark circles, pimples, uneven skin tone,… sometimes concealer is “overused” by women, resulting in the opposite effect. Use just enough concealer in areas such as under the eyes, outer corners of the eyes, laugh lines…
Not applying foundation to the neck
To achieve a perfect look and avoid having a visible line, apply foundation to both the neck and any exposed skin when wearing outfits such as the ears, collarbone, chest,… and remember to blend it evenly.
Incorrectly applying lip liner
Don’t insist if you’re not confident in your skills and want to appear at a party with unnatural and smudgy lips. Instead, focus on hydrating and concealing imperfections, use a suitable lipstick for a plump and moist lips.
Using overly thick false eyelashes
Long, curled eyelashes make the eyes appear more sparkling, which is the dream of many women. One thing to note when using this accessory is to choose false eyelashes that suit your eye shape and avoid applying them too thick. Don’t overuse them as it will only make you look older and unnatural.
Overusing blush and highlighter
Depending on the makeup style, blush can be chosen to harmonize and complement the overall look.
When applying blush, determine your face shape to apply it properly. Avoid applying blush too heavily as it will only transform you into a “clown” and make you appear older.
Using too much highlighter will expose all the imperfections on your face. The corners of the eyes, below the eyebrows, bridge of the nose, upper cheeks, upper lip line are a few areas on the face where you can use highlighter.
Misapplying eyeliner
Applying eyeliner neatly will enhance the overall sharpness and leave a good impression on others. When applying makeup, avoid applying eyeliner too thick or applying it on the lower lash line, as it will make your eyes appear heavy. Each eye shape will have its own eyeliner style, so don’t forget to experiment with different styles.
